Cavaliers are simply the most lovable dogs around, and they will love you back ten fold! Often called "comforter" spaniels, they are exactly that. Nothing pleases them more than to be with you. Not in an over exuberant way often found in other breeds, but rather in a melt-your-heart sort of way. Cavaliers are remarkable in their ability to fit into a wide variety of life styles, making them suitable for young and the young at heart.  The AKC (American Kennel Club) describes their tempermant as "...friendly, non-aggressive with no tendency towards nervousness or shyness."
