Cavaliers are fantastic, loving, sweet, and smart little companions, but how do you choose?
Popular opinion has it that Males are actually more desirable for reasons you might not think of at first. Males have fewer incidental biological concerns, whereas the Females require more care. An example of this is Seasonal Heats that can be as much as a month long, twice a year. If your female is not spayed, she can leave a bloody discharge on carpets, couches, or anywhere she may happen to be. Female Cavaliers tend to become very moody while in heat and may appear withdrawn or “grumpy”. Also consider the expense of spaying, which can be more than twice that of neutering for a male. Another reason males are more desirable is they tend to be more exuberant and attentive, while females often are more reserved or down right “dignified”. A good friend once told us, “think of it this way, the Female loves you, but the Male is in love with you”.
